AA has been very interested in my cross necklace lately, and has been asking all kinds of questions about it. For those of you who don’t know, a few years back as a surprise Brandon replaced the diamond in my engagement ring with a bigger one, and put the smaller original diamond into a cross that I wear on a necklace. We even had it engraved with the Bible verse that Brandon and I try to remember for our marriage. The necklace is very special to me.
Yesterday I was wearing the necklace and AA started asking me, “What’s this”, so I explained to her how the necklace came to be. Then I told her that one day, when she was older and I knew she wouldn’t lose it, her Daddy would be giving that diamond to her. She picked the cross up and looked at the diamond for a few seconds, then she responded with, “I want a PINK diamond, please.”
Oh.my.goodness.
A pink diamond? She is not only requesting diamonds, but PINK ones now? I knew she was girly, but I don’t think I could fathom the depths of her girlyness.
Rest assured, she will not be receiving any (real) pink diamonds from us!
It never ceases to amaze me how God creates little girls so innately girly, and little boys so innately boyish. It is truly incredible. I love my little girly, girl, and enjoy every tea party, every “royal ball”, toenail painting, hairbow putting in, makeup applying, and all the dresses that come with her! I wouldn’t change her for anything in the world!
Although, I must admit, I am quite proud that my little girly girl will get out and get dirty in the mud with all the little boys. And I know for a fact, that nobody is going to push this little girly girl around!
She is sugar and spice, and everything nice, for sure! We wouldn’t have her any other way.
